The name Kaisar is derived from the Arabic word for "king" and also appears in the languages of many other cultures, including Old English (Caser), Middle English (Keiser), Modern German (König), Greek (), Armenian, Persian, Sogdian, and Turkish. It is also a cognate with the Latin word for king, Kaiser.
The story of the eponymous hero is one of the more unusual to be told in the world of fantasy anime. Unlike the standard hero who saves the day in most other stories, the hero of Kaisar has to struggle with his own insecurity, self-doubt, and lack of strength. This struggle is what makes him unique and interesting.
Despite this, the hero is not without support in his quest to overcome these weaknesses. Amira, a princess from the neighboring kingdom of Helheim, is his most important ally, as she offers him the strength he needs to overcome his doubts and insecurities. She also offers him a place to come home, and gives him a chance to show his true strength.
The main story of the series isn't as strong as that of Genesis, but it does have some great secondary characters. The character of Nina is developed through a great depiction of first love and rejection, while Kaisar jp struggle with his personal sense of justice, offended by the actions of the king he serves, and his duty to the daemons themselves is compelling. The obnoxious daemon Azazel is also well developed, as he struggles to balance his desire for power with his responsibility for the freedom of his fellow demons. This makes him far more interesting than the obnoxious villain he was in Genesis.
